The Scholarship Since the Scholarships for Illinois Residents program began, in 1948, $3 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 300 Illinois students—enabling them to attend Trinity College, one of the oldest and finest colleges in the country. Illinois Scholarship awards meet the full financial need of each recipient and provide generous funding for travel, without the need for loans or a campus job during the academic year. 
Being awarded the Illinois Scholarship has afforded me the opportunity to study at a small, independent liberal arts college in the East. I'm able to experience a new region, meet new people, and concentrate on my studies and my new experiences here without the worries of having to commit extra time to a job. —Kristina A.
